Every spring at the European Night of Museums, the National Art Museum of Ukraine opens an exhibition, representing Ukrainian contemporary media art. The Druganov/Pryduvalov’s project changes the space of the museum through media installation, which combines static and moving visual and sound images. The conception of the project is based upon the idea of the unity of oppositions, such as black/white, knowledge/sense, horizontal/vertical, empty/full, acting/non-acting, and silence/sound. Authors’ experience in theatre design and movie directing make the project spectacular and full of meanings. Critics mention unpredictability as the main authors’ feature, and it is unpredictability that constitute the principal intrigue of the “90/120” project.
Oleksander Druganov (born 1961) is a classic of Ukrainian actual art, representative of the Ukrainian New Wave of the second half of the 1980’s – early 1990’s. He works in photography, painting, graphics, polygraphic design, performance, video art. In 1989 – 1995 he taught on the department of graphics in the National Academy of Art and Architecture.  Since 2000 Druganov has been a chief artist of Kyiv avant-garde theatre “Free Stage”, acting as a co-author of the well known director Dmytro Bohomazov. He is a participant of numerous exhibitions and projects, including “Dialog with Kyiv” (1992, Munich, Germany), performance “Throat” (1994), together with D.Bohomazov, Kyiv), “Photo…synthesis” (1997, Kyiv), “Month of Photography-98” (1998, Bratislava, Slovakia), “New Directions” (2000, Kyiv), “Farewell, arms” (2004, Kyiv), installations for “Gogol-Fest”  (2007, 2008, Kyiv).
Viktor Pryduvalov (born 1970) is one of the best known Ukrainian directors of music video and feature films. He was engaged in literature, theatre, music, painting. His first music video he filmed in 1987 after the song of his own music band. In 2006 he created the musical project “Void” and recorded the album “For Strangers”. During 1990’s – 2000’s Pryduvalov made music videos for “Ocean Elzy”, “TNMK”, “Tartak”, “Skriabin”, “Green Grey”, Boris Grebenshchikov, “Gorod 312” and others. He is a director of TV musicals “Ali-Baba and forty bandits” and “Metro” and art-house 4-series movie “Barby’s Wedding” (2005).
