On August 15, at 18:00, the National Art Museum of Ukraine will host the second showing of the documentary film by Dmitry Dzhulay "Malevich. The Ukrainian square "(production of the Ukrainian editorial board of the international media corporation Radio Svoboda).
This is a debut film of Dmitry Dzhulay, filmed with the participation of researchers from Ukraine, France, Russia and Poland - Dmitry Gorbachev, Jean-Claude Markade, Andzhej Turowski, Irina Vakar.
"We do not want to split Malevich between different countries. We were interested in exploring how did the Ukrainian context - the "Ukrainian square" of his life and work, influence the formation of his aesthetic concept. We did not have to invent anything. Malevich wrote in his autobiography, that one of the main sources for his work was the folk art ", - emphasizes Dmitry Dzhulay.
Only during this event, the audience will have a unique opportunity to see the only work of Kazimir Malevich from the NAMU collection - a two-sided sketch, which is stored in the funds of the museum.
